Riding on the back of a strong year of Tourism and Business Events, Singapore welcomed over 2 million BTMICE* visitors (+ 14%) with overall hotel occupancy rising by 1.2 percentage points to 86% in 2018.
For 2019, The Singapore Tourism Board has forecasted international visitor arrivals to be in the range of 18.7 to 19.2 million (+1 to +4 %) and visitors can look forward to a pipeline of new hotels with over 2,800 new rooms.

Village Hotel at Sentosa – April 2019
The flagship property of their Village Brand, the Village Hotel at Sentosa is positioned as a mid-tier accommodation with 606 rooms excellent for large business groups and family vacations. The generous room inventory (one of the largest on the island in a single property) allows companies to house their entire group in the same property, making it a great option for retreats and team building activities. The Events Centre and Village Square is a restored heritage building that houses over 800 square metres of event space. All rooms feature work desks and access to the Pool Deck that offers a unique themed Pamukkale pool experience, inspired by the cascading pools of Turkey.
The Outpost Hotel – April 2019
Just across the Village Hotel, is the premium Outpost Hotel which features 193 rooms positioned for executive guests. All rooms are decorated in black and white designs with walk-in showers and amenities that include a complimentary minibar and Nespresso machine. Guests at the Outpost will also have exclusive access to a rooftop pool that overlooks the South China Sea with excellent views of the Wings of Time water and light night show on Sentosa with its daily fireworks display.
Barracks Hotel – August 2019
Rounding up the collection is the Barracks Hotel. It features 40 premium rooms and suites situated in a conserved heritage building, serving as a window to the island’s past when the British used the location as an Artillery barrack in 1904. Rooms are decked in old-school luxury with rooms on the ground floor having direct access to the pool and private jacuzzi.
YotelAir Singapore Changi – April 2019
Yotel’s second property in Singapore, YotelAir will be located landside on the 4thlevel of the New Jewel Changi Airport. It will offer flexible stays with self check-in kiosks and bookings by the hour, perfect for a quick transit or day business trip. The signature cabin rooms are smartly designed in a compact space with all the amenities – flat screen TV, en-suite bathroom with rain shower, a pull-out workstation and free Wi-fi. Guests will also have access to the club lounge to enjoy views of Jewel’s iconic rain vortex.
Kesa House – May 2019
Opening in May, the new Kesa House by 8M Collective along Keong Siak Road in Chinatown is the latest boutique hotel to open in Singapore. Comprising of 10 heritage shophouses, the 60 room property is introducing a flexible-living concept with six room types including “Studio”, a large open-plan room with a lounge area, fully equipped kitchenettes, perfect for those extended stays. The “Entertain” rooms are 20sqm indoors, but your very own private green terrace allows you to host a small group of friends over for a glass of wine. Complementing the hotel are six F&B concepts including The Old Man Singapore outpost, a quirky restaurant & bar from Hong Kong that pays tribute to celebrated writer and cocktail enthusiast, Ernest Hemmingway. Other notable restaurants include MAG’s, a intimate modern French restaurant with a curated wine list of over 150 labels in an open kitchen and Olivia Restaurant & Lounge, which brings authentic Catalan cuisine from Barcelona right to the heart of Chinatown.

Located in the heart of Chinatown and the Central Business District, the Capri by Fraser hotel features 304 rooms centred around a Social Living and Residences concept. All rooms feature a microwave while select rooms include a cooker and hob allowing you to prepare quick and wholesome meals during your stay. Communal spaces include “The Den” featuring a co-working, entertaining and lounge space with movie screenings and activities hosted by the General Manager. The fun “Spin & Play” is a special launderette featuring the latest digital games to pass your time as you wait for your load of washing to finish.
Raffles Hotel – Mid 2019
The iconic 131-year-old hotel, under management of French hotel Group, Accor, closed for major restoration in 2017 and will reopen its doors this year with fresh amenities and technological updates. Careful consideration was taken to ensure that the unique ambience and charm of the hotel was retained. The new Raffles will feature three new suite categories and 10 new and refreshed dining experiences with over 1,100 seats in total.
Highlights include acclaimed French chef, Alain Ducasse who will open BBRin the Bar & Billiard Room featuring a menu inspired by the cuisines of Portugal, Spain, Italy and France. Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, one of the world’s top female chefs and chef of three-michelin star restaurant Anne Sophie Pic will open La Dame de Pic. It will be her first foray in Asia and feature a taste of her signature cuisine from Valence in Southeast France. The newly restored two-storey Long Bar will continue to serve up Singapore Slings and remain the only place in the city where littering the floor with peanut shells is encouraged!
Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore – 2019
Located within the grounds of the Laguna National Golf & Country Club in the Eastern part of Singapore, the first Dusit Thani hotel in Singapore is 10 minutes from Changi Airport and 15 minutes from the CBD. Its unique location offers guests a respite from the city while enjoying sweeping views of the Laguna’s two 18-hole championship golf courses. The 198 guest rooms and 8 luxury pavilions have been tastefully decorated in a contemporary design. Prestige suite rooms offer over 80sqm of space and an outdoor bathtub with complimentary access to the Dusit Club Lounge. The hotel will also offer 4,000 sqm of indoor and outdoor meeting facilities for MICE groups including a column free ballroom that seats up to 520 for a banquet.
The Clan Hotel – 2020 TBC
In 2020, Far East Hospitality will open The Clan Hotel as a new brand. Located at Far East Square in Chinatown, the 324-room property will target business travellers with its close proximity to the CBD and luxury amenities. Reflecting the heritage of various clan associations that line the location, this design concept will be felt throughout with images of shophouses, samsui women, coolies and warehouses filling the space. Guests will also be treated as a member of an exclusive Club, with highly customised services relevant to the upper mid-tier clientele.
The Singapore EDITION by Marriot – 2020 TBC
EDITION Hotels is the boutique luxury-lifestyle brand conceived by American hotelier Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International. Situated in key gateway cities, it currently has 7 properties including London, New York and Barcelona with 14 more in the pipeline. The Singapore EDITION, its fifth in Asia, will be a 190 room property situated on Orchard Road at the site of the former Boulevard Hotel. It will feature the personal, intimate and individualised lodging experience that Ian Scharger has come to be known for.
