FOR A CLEAR MIND
The folks at Singapore Cocktail Bar IBHQ are hosting a weekly series of Instagram (IG) Live Conversations with local creative personalities to inspire us in these times. Past sessions have included Simone Heng, Professional Motivational Speaker and Technologist Willy Foo. IBHQ Founder Kamil Foltan also contributes to the Indigenous Bartender, a platform he created for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts to share information about locally sourced ingredients and their creative uses. We particularly enjoyed his article about Jackfruit and its health benefits. Jackfruit Bellini, anyone? We’ll happily cheers to that.
These days, we also intentionally try to spend time away from our screens, opting for Podcasts instead. Priya Parker, author of the bestselling book “The Art of Gathering” recently launched a Podcast “Together Apart” with the New York Times and shares advice for helping people honour life through meaningful virtual gatherings from birthdays and birth to graduations.

These days it’s all about the SG Clean movement. But beyond keeping common surfaces clean and washing our hands for 20 seconds, have you heard of the Clean Beauty Movement? We’re also getting in on the home workout movement and trying out some online yoga lessons. The combination of stretching and mindful movements helps keep us centered. FOR A NURTURED SOUL
Nourish your souls with healthy and nutritious recipes to whip up at home. Even for a novice cook, Recipes by Super Farmers are fuss free, easy to follow and utilise simple pantry ingredients. We thoroughly enjoy Cynthea’s tutorials on preparing a Healing Tumeric-Ginger Paste, great in a hearty soup with local vegetables and chicken. Another of our team’s top online kitchen shows to cook along to is the Bon Appetit Test Kitchen Channel. When lockdown began, we were welcomed into their own home kitchens and introduced to their families as they continued to entertain us with cooking antics and their best kept kitchen secrets. By far our favourite is Molly Makes Sour Cream and Onion Biscuits. In this lighthearted video, Molly video calls her Dad as they cook the same recipe together. The candid bits of family love that shine through is heartwarming and reminds us that we can still connect meaningfully despite being thousands of miles apart!
